AP Photo Collages
All four of these collages share the common theme of personal appearance and how the views of others affect the way young girls think they should look. The collages show the growth process from being put under this pressure to breaking out from the pressure.
Collage #1
This first collage that I did was to show what I thought society expects out of women, with different things like plastic surgery and fixing yourself to be what others want you to be.
Collage #2
This second collage shows almost the though process behind getting ready. I did a tape transfer of things girls would relate themselves to and then the positive affirmation on the mirror.
Collage #3
This third collage represents what should be remembered while feeling overwhelmed by others when they feel put down or less than others. I used string to make everything feel connected and really look like the inside of someone's mind when trying to collect all these thoughts together.
